Politeama Rossetti is the main theater of Trieste and one of the most important theatres in Italy, artistically and economically. Politeama Rossetti was built in 1878 and, despite being a historic theater, it can host various genres of show: drama thatre, operetta, musicals, dance shows.

In Politeama Rossetti there are Sala Bartoli, that can host 128 spectators and is mostly for contemporary drama, and a bigger one, named from 2010 Sala Assicurazioni Generali, that can host 1530 spectators and is one of the biggest venue dedicated to prose theatre in Italy and Europe.
